![]() ![]() ![]() No matter how many times I’m here, I never get tired of this place! The food and service is always excellent! I highly recommend omakase at the bar. I’m the Duchess!!! =] I’ve been going here for yearsss now and it’s still my favorite «go-to» sushi restaurant in OC. Toss in a little alcohol, and this will easily hit $ 60+ pp for lunch if you go for the Omakase. If you want a little more value for the money, then maybe another high end (but not this high end) sushi establishment would be the option. If you really want the best fish, then by all means come here. So it becomes a question of quality vs value. While there were a few items that I would expect to pay $ 10 or so an order for, I don’t think that on average the per piece price should have been that high. The bill was 10 pieces ( 10 individual pieces, not 2 piece orders) for $ 50. If you are someone who likes a lot of sauces, or slathers on the soy, or has to add (fake) wasabi paste, then sit at a table or go elsewhere. The quality of the fist was fantastic, and the preparation was excellent. I don’t eat shellfish, and the chef was able to swap out three of the items (octopus, uni and scallop) for other options, which I very much appreciate. I came here for lunch and sat at the bar, so Omakase it was. They are the first faces and encounters you get in a restaurant they surely made me felt welcomed! We make sure we tipped well as I believe in tipping high for good service to motivate the workers and let them be aware they are appreciated and helping the business run well. They had wonderful recommendations and were attentive. We were immediately greeted and smoothly transitioned to our seats. Golden Eye Snapper Toro Yellowtail Belly DESSERT: Mochi! Service was sweet. Appetizers: Fried Octopus - perfect crisp Beef tongue - well seasoned and medium cooked SUSHI: Bluefin Tuna Halibut Salmon Belly (delicious) Raw Octopus w/yuzu Seared Japanese Wagyu (yummmm!!!). ![]() They offer yuzu paste and fresh wasabi at no additionally cost which is nice. Omakase is definitely the way to order unless you know what fishes you want. Omakase is listed at the entrance and on the wall behind the sushi bar. I have come to truely enjoy great raw fish, their cuts, and their seasoning done by the chefs. It is not number one, but definitely one in which I would return to often. ![]()
